If you are unfamiliar with “The Ides of March”, it represents a chilling time in history. Basically, on March 15, 44 B.C., Julius Caesar was stabbed about 60 times and even Brutus, whom he trusted, partook in the murder. This story has several different interpretations, but the one important fact taken from The Ides of March, is never take anything for face value in business.
It’s sad to say this as I only wish this world had goodness and best intentions, but it doesn’t. Life as a child is completely different that our adult lives. It’s so awesome to look back on our memories of childhood and see how innocent we all were, right? What would happen when you were planning to play a game of baseball with your friends when you were a child? Well, you would probably ask your buddies to meet you at the park to play a game of ball. Next thing you know, everyone shows up with the gear ready to play and a ballgame takes place. Pretty simple, right?
Take that same scenario and just change up the participants as adults. Well, today, if you are asked to play a game of ball, most of the times it’s okay, but as adults we analyze the situation first. We think who is going to be there and whether or not we want to play with these particular people. Why would we want to jeopardize our reputation or why would we involve ourselves with any one of these people because of their current status?
