My unstructured upbringing, and cares to the wind attitude, led to my frequent incarceration, from childhood to adulthood, it’s a disturbing story, which is primarily aimed at the adult reading audience, who enjoy reading about reality situations and crime. I have always been a reader, and to a large extent, that helped me become a self taught person. Born on the banks of the Colorado River in Arizona, and raised up in the Marcos De Niza barrio projects in South Phoenix, I experienced the injustices of the cotton fields, Maricopa County Juvenile Detention Home, and Arizona State Industrial School at Fort Grant, Arizona. I wandered the desperate streets of Los Angeles, and the forlorn railroad tracks, alone, like a lost person without a purpose in life. I was locked up in the jails of Phoenix, and Los Angeles, before winding up in the California State penitentiary system. Upon my release, I struggled to stay out of the pen, and took the jobs that society at large would never want to take. Through numerous personal tragedies, incarcerations, and unfortunate circumstances, I lost control of my life. No one was ever able to change my destructive behavior. The changes when they occurred came from within me, when I could no longer cope, with the situations I had cast my self into. Looking back, I can now see what I couldn’t see, during those hopeless time periods. I was very fortunate, to finally be able to leave that life behind me, through relationships that believed in me, and successfully worked, and built myself a civil service work career, from which I retired. I now spend my days enjoying life’s simple pleasures, after all my previous tragic missteps. My objective in life now, is to become an accomplished writer.

This book is a personal journey that is at once an adventure, a tragedy, a comedy, and an insightful look at the connection between the environment and the fragility of life. The story chronicles the day-to-day challenges and revelations of life with a chronic health condition (chemical sensitivities). It examines the recovery and emerging new life that arises from a personally unique experience. Written by a landscape architect and artist, the story reveals and examines the unique northern New England physical and cultural landscape where the story unfolds. More than just an account of developing and managing an illness, the book documents the daily journey of the author who sees and relates the havoc a chemically polluted planet is causing personally and universally, while providing an eloquent, poignant and sometimes humorous glimpse of the natural and cultural world around him, which eventually serves as the vessel for physical and spiritual healing. As a result of new and possibly tainted building materials installed in his home and office during a renovation project , the author became increasingly symptomatic and ill, culminating in a severe reaction to most common chemicals. Literally chased room to room throughout his home, his attempt to find a place to work by day and sleep by night proved futile. In only few weeks this mysterious condition struck with unexpected swiftness, producing devastating chronic symptoms and significant life changes, not the least of which was forcing him permanently outdoors. While trying to maintain a semblance of family life and a business, he lived and worked at various points in a garage, a tent, an abandoned apartment and a garden shed. The experience of having to restructure his life, essentially from the inside out, became a personal journey. The process was painful, slow and unpredictable. The bad days seemed endless. But along with the pain, isolation, and fear, he found strength, courage, humor, and healing. The experience allowed him to see himself as a far more independent and self-reliant being than he had previously realized, and an integral part of a much larger, co-dependent environment. Immersed in the landscape with a newfound inner reliance, seeking health from an insidious illness, the author sets out to reinvent his life.

After successfully completing his 12,000 mile bus ride around America, Shaun Donovan now embarks on his latest and greatest challenge - to circumnavigate the coastline of Australia, again by bus, but also to ride the famous 'Indian Pacific' and 'Ghan' trains from west to east and south to north of this vast continent - A 20,000 kilometre journey which must be completed in less than 50 days. In a compelling story of determination, desperation and in some cases deprivation, read how Shaun and his fiancée, Sally are roasted alive in sizzling heat and stifling humidity, get drowned-out in tropical storms and flash-flooding and survive an onslaught of electrifying lightning bolts, devastating cyclones and bone-shaking earthquakes before their journey is finally at an end. Add to this a lethal concoction of shark, stingray, and snake attacks they stumble upon during their trip and mix it up with crocodile, box jelly-fish, blue-ringed octopus and deadly stone-fish encounters and you've got yourself one hell of a story-line to tell. Like his American voyage of discovery, many things were learned and achieved, but there was also despair as his dreams of scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef and visiting Ayres Rock were shattered due to weather conditions and personal circumstances, both of which he swears will be done on his return to one of the most diverse and exciting continents on the planet. "See that moon up there? You can reach that high. Never be afraid because you can be anything you want to be." Susan Lucci was only five years old when her father shared these encouraging words with her. They inspired the highly imaginative child who loved make-believe to craft one of the most enduring characters in television history, an achievement that would earn her a record twenty-one Emmy nominations—the most for an actor in the award's history—and the crown as "Leading Lady of Daytime." When Lucci and All My Children were introduced to the world in 1971, American television changed forever. Susan's character, the beautiful, spirited, and mercurial Erica Kane, was an original—the first vixen viewers loved to hate. But while millions have enjoyed getting to know Erica's many sides—and have been awed at how this character has continually remade herself—the woman who plays her has remained a mystery. In her long-awaited memoir, this very private actress, wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, friend, and entrepreneur pulls back the curtain to reveal her story. Susan, like Erica Kane, has undergone a metamorphosis many times. All My Life shares the stories of those transformations: starring in roles on television and stage, where she took Broadway not just by storm but "by tsunami" as one critic raved about her performance in Annie Get Your Gun; mounting successful cabaret acts (solo and with Regis Philbin); bringing art and joy back to New York in the wake of 9/11; conquering the tango with Tony Dovolani on ABC's hit show Dancing with the Stars; and building a successful career as an entrepreneur with a signature line of products. Susan goes beyond her success to talk about the darker moments, too, including the childhood guilt she harbored over the death of her dear grandmother, the car accident that nearly took away her career and her eyesight, her newborn son's life-threatening illness, coping with her husband's cancer, and the pain of miscarriage—one of the many parallels between her Erica Kane. As charming, down-to-earth, and compelling as the woman whose story it tells, All My Life shines a spotlight on one of our most popular stars and reminds us of the power of dreams and how we can find the courage and tenacity to make them come true.

And to those who are my faithful friends until the end. To life for its thorns, winds, sunshine, and storms. And to God for the strength that helped me endure. And last but not least, to my nieces and nephews and my brothers and sisters. To my mother who taught me strength and resourcefulness. And to my father who’s no longer with us but left me the gift of music, poetry, and most importantly, the trait for feeling passionate love.

There is a remarkable unity to the work of Edmund Husserl, but there are also many difficulties in it. The unity is the result of a single personal and philo sophical quest working itself out in concrete phenomenological analyses; the difficulties are due to the inadequacy of initial conceptions which becomes felt as those analyses become progressively deeper and more extensive. ! Anyone who has followed the course of Husserl's work is struck by the constant reemergence of the same problems and by the insightfulness of the inquiries which press toward their solution. However one also becomes aware of Husserl's own dissatisfaction with his work, once so movingly expressed in a 2 personal note. It is the purpose of the present work to examine and revive one of the issues which gave Husserl difficulty, namely, the problem of an intro duction to phenomenology. Several of Husserl's writings published after Logical Investigations were either subtitled or referred to by him as "introductions to phenomenology. "3 These works serve to acquaint the reader with the specific character of Husserl's transcendental phenomenology and with the problems to which it is to provide the solution. They include discussions and analyses which pertain to what has come to be known as "ways" into transcendental phenomenology. 4 The issue here is the proper access to transcendental phenomenology.

The 21st Century is a time of profound and wrenching change. The phrase “stop the world, I want to get off” never seemed more appropriate. Robert Sopuck caught his first fish at age 4 in the presence of his father. That fish set off a lifetime of exploration of the natural world. He and his bride, the inestimable Caroline, live on 480 acres of wild land south of Manitoba’s Riding Mountain National Park. This book is about their way of life as modern country people who have developed a profound relationship with the land, wildlife, and the ecosystem that supports them. This book describes a way of living with Nature via detailed, funny, informative, and sometimes poignant essays. The first essay, “It All Started with This Fish,” describes the beginning of this journey while the second last, “Hunting with Dad” describes his emotions while speaking at his father’s funeral about their shared outdoor experiences that made him who he is. In between there are hunting stories, “how to” essays on wild food preparation, and descriptions of unique wildlife experiences. “A Life Outdoors” will show the reader that there is a way of life “out there” that is authentic, joyous, and profound.
